i found a job. well. actually it's the waitress one yimeng told me about. those wedding banquets kind. anyway. let me start from the beginning of tday. my third day of job-hunting (well actually yesterday was mostly orientation/observation). jiaxin came t my place in the morning and we circled ads in the newspaper and started calling up the numbers. then we left my place at 10am+ i think and took two buses t harbourfront. visited vivocity! for the first time. hahaha. ate lunch there, after job-hunting (unsuccessfully). went t aljunied for some singing audition (we wanted t take a look). the auditioner said jiaxin's vocals are really good but she's a bit panicky. for me it's a total contrast. my vocals aren't as good (actually i was just accompanying jiaxin, i didn't want t do the audition but the auditioner said since i was there i might as well try) but i'm calm and collected (actually because i just wanted t get over and done with it asap lah). so anyway she said we could be trainee artistes (have t go for six months' course, something like enrichment, for $600) rather than live artistes (2-year contract with the company, with training sponsored) but at least we were not rejected [: but i wasn't really interested in the first place and jiaxin isn't sure either. but anyway, good exposure. now we know what it's like t go for an audition [:

after that we went t bugis where we were supposed t have a briefing for some surveyor job. we were late but it hadn't started. but guess what. it was for prudential and my mom works for aia. rival companies :/ so jiaxin paid the $10 deposit for a booklet of 50 surveys ($1 for a properly completed survey) and she has t return it on monday. but she said we can share the booklet. see how lah. don't know if i want t work for my mom's rival. quite weird.

then, we went t tanjong pagar t meet a guy who wants t open a drama school. he needs t film something, as teaching material or something. but he cancelled the meeting later.

after that we walked t M hotel nearby, t find out more about the job. the man at the lobby referred us t the banquet manager(?) and he asked a girl t tell us what t do. she led us t the different places we have t go and told us roughly what t do and what t wear. well. first we have t invest in a plain black skirt and plain black shoes. because we don't have them. we have hair nets and stockings. but i think we MAY be able t earn this back in one night. yimeng has kindly agreed t lend me shoes and skirt (but i think they'll fit jiaxin better). working time is 1730-2330. $5.50 per hour from monday t thursday but $6 per hour from friday t saturday. i'm just wondering how t get home safely. safe for me but not as safe for jiaxin (where she lives, i think there are a lot of alleys. and she has t take a bus from the mrt station. there may not be buses at that time. but at least for me i can walk home, and the HDB void decks are all brightly lit [: )

then we took the mrt home. that's it. hope i will like this job and be able t cope. it's quite cool actually. heh.
